Resources to Boost Reading and Writing Skills
These tools I’m about ready to share with you may have seen me talk about in my other book-related posts.
Because they are effective and helped my six-year-old who experienced challenges in reading and writing.
I would feel like I’m doing you a disservice if I didn’t at least mention them to you.
So here they are…
My top three resources to leverage to boost your kiddo’s reading skills.
I’ve also added an additional resource to improve communication skills (if you have a toddler learning to talk).
The video library ↑ includes all read alouds and printable activities created at Intensive Therapy for Kids. These videos helped my son learn to read. Best part? It’s free! Bookmark the page to access it anytime anywhere.
This video ↑ has numerous golden nuggets you can put into action today.
Accessing the link above ↑ exposes you to a complete curriculum of guided reading lessons, activities, worksheets, games, and movies to catapult your child into growing their skills.
This ebook ↑ exposes you to effective strategies that speech-language pathologists use during therapy sessions. What’s cool about this tool is you have the freedom to pick which techniques will work best for your kiddo.
I will add to this list when and if I come across other great tools for you to utilize. I’m always open to hearing what helpful resources you’ve come across too! Comment below to let me know.
Tornado Science Activity
For the weather fans, this is a combined booked inspired activity and science experiment in one.
You will make an actual tornado that twirls and swirls!
The experiment is easy and quick to whip up.
Follow these simple step-by-step instructions:
- Take two empty bottles (like a plastic liter pop bottle)
- Add water to one bottle
- Then add a splash of food coloring
- Take hot glue to seal the empty bottle on top
- After it dries, duct tape both bottles together
The glue plus tape ensures no leaks.
Voila, your tornado is assembled!
Now onto the fun part…
Start shaking the bottle as you turn it over.
