Why Is It So Good?
An early read for toddlers between the ages of 3 and 5 years helps you learn all sorts of reading tools for beginners like …
- Sight words (is, a, can, the)
- Word repetition
- Short sentences with larger font
Your child meets Captain America in this easy to follow short read aloud.
The story is excellent for beginner readers (especially for those who have shorter attention spans).
Now let’s dive into the engaging storybook activity for your kiddo to enjoy including a BONUS activity!
Meet Captain America Storybook Activity
The activity is to draw the words.
Using the letter featured on the left side (C, A, I, T, L), then spell the word.
Next, draw the word in the box beside it.
Your child is introduced to 5 new words (including two beginner sight words: is, the) along with putting together a sentence “Captain America is the leader!”.
Now that your child has just learned a new sentence and a couple sight words, let’s view your BONUS activity, “Trace the Words”.
We will go over why this is a helpful learning tool as well as FUN. 🙂
Trace the Words BONUS Activity!
In the early stages, when a child learns to write by hand it takes A LOT of time and practice.
This activity was created to help your kiddo gain control over their fine motor skills (like their hand, finger, and arm movements) that are necessary to form words.
Tracing is a wonderful way to help your child practice their writing skills.
Then, when you add a topic they are interested in (like a superhero!) learning just became FUN.
Your child gets to write their favorite superhero name, Captain America.
When you add tracing to your little one’s drawing time it encourages a couple things …
- Refines pre-writing skills
- Provides a strong foundation for drawing and emerging writing
- Is a confidence booster

I got the book set called the “World of Reading Marvel Meet the Super Heroes!” for my son over Christmas to help him with his reading.
He was completely engaged!
There are 12 total books in the set including Meet Captain America.
Each night we met a different superhero before he went to bed.
We both really looked forward to this for a couple reasons …
- The wording is simple and easy to follow along which allowed my son to gain confidence in his reading skills (within a short period he was reading pages all on his own)!
- These stories are quick reads (taking you a few minutes to do).
This book series is fantastic for beginner readers (especially for those who have shorter attention spans).
