- Made to fit into your lifestyle
- Made to support your special needs child with maximum comfort
By maximum comfort, I’m talking about the material which is one of its TOP features.
Let me explain …
The Material Features
First, I want to get into the creators of Special Tomato because they have kicked it up a notch regarding the material they use to make their adaptive equipment line super comfortable for children with special needs.
Tim Bergeron, one of the founding members and also the original creator of Tumble Forms, has made the seating and positioning designs of Special Tomato to be more therapeutically friendly to benefit what therapists and caregivers work on daily with their children.
The material is designed to be ‘Soft Touch’ meaning it’s latex-free, peel and tear resistant, and made with anti-microbial protection.
It’s soft yet durable and has a great reputation of not much wear and tear when being used by hospitals, clinics, schools, or at home.

Here’s quick helpful video (less than 1 minute) on how to fold and unfold the Special Tomato Jogger. If you are anything like me, folding stroller’s can sometimes be tricky. 🙂
Takeaway Tip: You can add Special Tomato liners which are optional (not included with the jogger).
If your child needs added hip and back support, you can choose to add a ‘soft touch’ liner back with seat pads.

Common Questions & Answers
Is the mesh durable enough at the ‘footwell’ especially if a child has orthopedics on and is rubbing against it?
Yes, the mesh is very durable. It’s peel and tear resistant and very easy to clean.
Do you need to remove the wheels to fold the jogger?
Not at all. See the video above on how to fold and unfold the jogger which you can do with the wheels on.
What age should a child be to ride in the jogger?
If your child weighs less than the weight limit of up to 110 pounds than the jogger should fit them.
What’s the max height?
If your concerned about height, it would be best to measure your child from their bottom up to their head when sitting down as the seat back height is 25 inches. See the size chart below for reference.
Would this jogger do OK in the snow?
Yes, the tires are durable rubber tires which makes it a lot easier to push “off-road” and onto rougher surfaces.
Is assembly required?
Yes but it’s very simple to put together. Just snap on the wheels. 🙂

Pros vs. Cons
After writing this review and going down the rabbit hole of in-depth research, reviews, and customer questions, I definitely feel the pros outweigh the cons.
Let’s do a quick recap of the biggest positives vs. negatives. 🙂
Pros
- Durable
- Super lightweight (only 27 pounds)
- Safe and easy to use
- Easy to fold and clean
- Made with high quality material to last
- Made to fit into your lifestyle
- Made for children with or without special needs
- Made to support a child with maximum comfort
Cons
- Cost
- Optional add-ons (which are super helpful) but will add to the cost
In a nutshell, I think the jogger should be looked at as an investment in your lifestyle and child’s needs. It is pricey which is the biggest concern but it is made to last for years or until your child outgrows it.
Rather than having to purchase multiple stroller’s overtime, this could be the one and only you need.
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

What Reviewers are Sharing …
Overall, the ratings and what reviewers are sharing is they are happy and very pleased with the Special Tomato Jogger.
As one reviewer shares, “My 22-year-old daughter has cerebral palsy and can not walk. I purchased this to use around the house inside and out and when we got visiting. It rides like a Cadillac. Easy to assemble and very lightweight. Worth every penny. ”
Another reviewer says this is a nice solid stroller stating, “Upon opening, it was such a relief to see it was almost fully assembled. Just a quick click on the tires, and it was ready to go! The new folding mechanism is great compared to the old EIO. Only complaint is that it’s not easy to fold flat….some maneuvering is involved in getting it compacted down. ”
